'Age of Consequences' Art Show Ahead This Week

A look at what's happening this week in Easton.

Good morning, everyone. We're at the start of a new (and shortened) week, so let's see what the next few days have in store for us.

1. Artist Matthew Christopher's "The Age of Consequences" show begins Thursday at the Nurture Nature Center.

As the center says in its announcement: "Christopher’s images capture the mesmerizing beauty and lost history of the various derelict buildings dotting our country's landscape. First and foremost, explains the artist, 'it is an attempt to retain the history and essence of neglected sites before (and after) they are gone forever.'"

The show begins Thursday at 6 p.m. with an opening reception, and continues until November 9.

2. Rosh Hashanah is this week, and Temple Covenant of Peace has services scheduled for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

3. Remember: because Labor Day was Monday, trash collection in the city will be moved up one day this week.

4. Not a lot of municipal meetings this week. Normally, the city planning commission would meet Wednesday night, but they've moved it to Sept. 9.
