Chickens, Minions and Winter Coats Thursday in Easton

A look at what's happening today in Easton.

Good morning everyone. It's Thursday, August 8. Richard Nixon received the Republican nomination for president on this day in 1968, and resigned on this day in 1974.

Here's what's happening today in Easton:

  • Take part in the "Chicken Dialogues" tonight at 6 p.m. at the Nurture Nature Center. The idea of raising backyard chickens is something city council could revisit this year. Here's a chance for you to weigh in.
  • This week's Movies in the Park offering is Despicable Me, starting at 8:30pm, Boys & Girls Club, 210 Jones Houston Way. Bring your own chairs/blankets.
  • The Easton Fire Department's Coats for Kids program will hold a fundraiser every Thursday this month from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Two Rivers Brewing. Ten percent of all sales will go to the drive.
