DNA Leads to Arrest in Easton Rape, Police Say

Quadree Dixon, already serving time on drug charges, accused of raping woman on Easton's South Side.

Easton police say DNA evidence has led them to one of two men who raped a woman on the city's south side last summer.

Quadree Farod Dixon, 22, was charged Thursday with rape, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, sexual assault, simple assault and indecent assault.

Dixon, formerly of the 300 block of W. Berwick Street, had been in state prison on drug charges when he was arrested for the rape, which police say happened Aug. 1, 2012 on the steps leading from Smith Street to Lachenour Avenue.

According to court records, the woman, a South Side resident, was climbing the steps early in the morning on Aug. 1 when she was approached by two men who forced her to have sex with them.

Court records say the woman escaped from the men, ran home, and called police. The woman went to the hospital, where doctors performed a rape kit.

Police say DNA evidence from the rape kit matched Dixon's DNA, although Dixon initially denied any contact with the woman.

He was arraigned before District Judge Daniel Corpora, who set bail at $75,000.

Dixon is already in prison on drug charges.

Last September, he was arrested after police found marijuana, a scale and packaging material in his house. Officers had been on his block after a 911 call about gunshots in the neighborhood.
