The national average this for a gallon is $3.588, up 4.9 cents from last week, but still about 14 cents lower than a year ago. But according to the report, the year over year difference will likely continue to fade due to higher crude oil prices and refinery maintenance that decreases supply.
In the Lehigh Valley, gas prices went up five cents since last week, from $3.48 a gallon to $3.53 a gallon. That's 25 cents cheaper than this time last year.
