Lafayette Has a New Security Chief

Former NJ polce captain Robert Sabbatis is Easton college's new director of public safety.

Lafayette College has a new director of public safety.

The college announced this week that Robert Sabbatis, until recently the  director of the Department of Public Safety at New Jersey Institute of Technology, would now be in charge of Lafayette's security.

Sabbatis spent 25 years with the Union, NJ police force—leaving the department as a captain—before going to work for NJIT in 2006, and spent four years as a practicing attorney.

He'll be replacing Hugh Harris, who is retiring after 31 years at the college.

Sabbatis said in a news release that he looked forward to working with the campus in "keeping Lafayette a safe place to work, live, and obtain a top-quality education."
