Park For Free at Easton's Meters on Heritage Day

At next Sunday's Heritage Day, Easton will celebrate the day in 1776 when the newly-written Declaration of Independence was read in the city.

It's also a day when drivers will get a brief period of independence from Easton's parking meter enforcement rules.

City council voted last week to suspend meter enforcement Sunday July 7 for Heritage Day, which is typically Easton's busiest festival.

This is the first year the meters were an issue for Heritage Day. Prior to 2013, the city didn't require drivers to pay to park at meters on Sunday.
