Proposal for property tax rebate for seniors pushed to January in Easton (lehighvalleynews.com) — Easton seniors may need to wait until at least January to learn whether a proposed property tax rebate funded by police hybrid-vehicle fuel savings will move forward. City Council delayed Councilman Roger Ruggles’s ordinance amid questions about long-term costs, actual fuel savings, and parliamentary procedure, even as several members stressed the need to ease the tax burden on older residents.
   

2. Northampton County Council says good-bye to four departing members (wfmz.com) — Northampton County Council met in Easton for its final 2025 session, saying goodbye to four departing members and hearing a final report from outgoing County Executive Lamont McClure on the county’s strong finances. The meeting also highlighted incoming Democratic leadership, several community-focused funding allocations, and the transition to new executive Tara Zrinski, developments that will shape county services for Easton residents next year.
   

3. South Whitehall planners examine Islamic center proposal (wfmz.com) — Easton residents may be interested to know Chase already operates a local branch as South Whitehall planners review a major expansion of the Al-Ahad Islamic Center, including a new school and worship space. The sketch plan, which also adds sports facilities and parking, raised traffic and congestion questions but received no formal decision yet.
   

4. Lehigh Valley wrestling: Easton bounces back, beats Parkland (centredaily.com) — Easton High’s wrestlers bounced back from a tough loss to Nazareth with a 34-27 win over Parkland at 25th Street Gym, highlighted by clutch performances from several underclassmen. Coaches and veterans stressed confidence and development as Easton, now 6-2, eyes staying in the state conversation while dealing with key injuries and an upcoming test at Bethlehem Catholic.
