PHCA Honors Northampton’s Florise Louis
Beloved Nurse with Magnetic Personality at Easton, Pa., SNF Receives "Stories of Caring Award"

Florise “Lulu” Louis, a licensed practical nurse (LPN) at Northampton Post Acute in Easton, has been honored by the Pennsylvania Health Care Association (PHCA) with a 2024 “Stories of Caring Award.” The beloved nurse accepted the award this fall at PHCA’s Annual Convention in Bethlehem.
“Lulu embodies all the qualities you would want in a nurse,” said Northampton Post Acute’s Melissa King, administrator. “She is patient, kind and compassionate, and the care that Lulu provides is second to none. Our congratulations to Lulu. We are so grateful to have her as part of our special team.”
A talented LPN, Louis has been providing compassionate care for Northampton residents for two years and is well known for her magnetic, joyful personality. Everyone is drawn to her, and she is always thinking about our residents, our team and the larger community, noted King. One recent example is how Louis, a Zumba instructor, volunteered to lead dance classes as stress-relieving fun for her colleagues and as a fundraiser for the American Heart Association.

“Coming to Northampton Post Acute each day is not work to me,” said Louis. “It’s caring for my family.”
PHCA’s Stories of Caring awards program, in collaboration with the Ceca Foundation, recognizes the remarkable work of dedicated caregivers in nursing homes, assisted living communities and personal care centers across the state who go above and beyond their daily duties to care for residents and support colleagues. Award nominations are submitted by members of the PHCA, which selects the honorees.
