Pulitzer Prize Winner to Speak at Lafayette

Geraldine Brooks, whose 2006 novel March won the Pulitzer Prize for fiction, will speak next week at Lafayette College.

Brooks is scheduled to lecture on “The Art of Historical Fiction” at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, March 14 at the college's Williams Center.

In March, Brooks imagines the Civil War through the eyes of Mr. March, father to the four March sisters in Louisa May Alcott's Little Women.

Her talk—the 2013 John L. Hatfield ’67 Lecture—is free, and will be followed by a book signing and reception.

Brooks' other books include Year of Wonder: A Novel of the Plague, and the non-fiction works Nine Parts of Desire: The Hidden World of Islamic Women, and Foreign Correspondence: A Penpal’s Journey from Down Under to All Over
