Rapper Young Chizz Puts Easton on MTV

Queens native uses Centre Square as backdrop for new single.

It's not unusual to hear music in Easton's Centre Square, whether it's someone performing at the Easton Farmers' Market, or just the regular music piped through the city sound system.

But on Saturday, the up-and-coming rapper Young Chizz brought something a little different to the square: its first appearance in a music video.

Easton will be one of the locations featured in the video for Chizz's new single "Mobbin," set to air on MTV, BET, YouTube and other locations July 15.

The video also shot scenes in New York and Virginia, said Mark Scuderi, who runs T.O.N.Y. Media, Chizz's record label.

Scuderi said he's a fan of Easton. When they met with Mayor Sal Panto earlier this week, they planned to shoot in one of the city's parks until the mayor suggested the square.

"Everybody does New York. New York or Philly," Scuderi said. "You never see Easton."
Panto said that filmmakers have used the square as a locition—a documentary crew was in the city last week—but as far as he knows, it's the first music video set in the circle.
