New Shop Called Re:Find Turns History Into Art
The owner of Bethlehem's Home & Planet opens new Northampton Street store Saturday.
Downtown Easton's newest store has products made from part of the city's past.
RE:find, which will have its grand opening Saturday at 437 Northampton St., focuses on "environmentally responsible and sustainably sourced home furnishings and gifts."
That means selling "a number of products reclaimed and made in and around Easton, including benches made from Lafayette bleacher seats, mirrors with tin reclaimed from the old Pomeroy’s building," manager Jon Clark said in a news release.
Clark runs a similar store, Home & Planet, in downtown Bethlehem, but said last month he was moving to Easton.
He told Patch at the time that still loves downtown Bethlehem, but felt he needed to move to make his business more manageable.
Clark said the new, smaller location in Easton will allow him to spend more time on the aspects of his business that he enjoys, such as working with artists like Bill Kreider, who creates the steel beam furniture that has become a Home & Planet signature.
To mark their arrival in Easton, Clark and RE:find owner Ron Susser will hold a day-long celebration Saturday, starting at 11:30 a.m.
