Tell Us: What Do You Want to See On Black Diamond's Property?
Developer wants to turn South Side property into residential units. What do you think?

The big yellow smokestack from the old Stewart Silk Mill—more recently, Black Diamond Enterprises—is one of the most visible landmarks on Easton's South Side.
It's also part of a giant, blighted property that hasn't seen much in the way of outward improvements for several years. There's weeds everywhere, and a mural painted by local school children has peeled and faded, making that part of the neighborhood seem like something out of a post-apocalyptic movie.
That could change soon. A developer wants to turn the property along West Lincoln, Coal and West Milton streets into a large residential development, with a three-story, 50 unit apartment complex, and a number of single family lots.
The Express-Times reported last week that the Florida-based KMACK development group was in the process of purchasing the property, which was reviewed by—but not voted on—by the city planning commission.
