Wilson Restaurant Trades Burgers For Breakfast

There's neon signs on the wall saying "burgers" and "fries," but these days, Joe Conicelli's mind is on breakfast. 

Four years ago, Conicelli opened Joe's Eggs Up Grill on Washington Boulevard in Wilson. He sold the business, then took it back and revamped it last year, turning it into a burger joint called Burger Joe's.

Now, he's rechristened the restaurant Joe's Eggs Up Grill, focusing more on breakfast than lunch.

"They liked my breakfasts and there was a demand for breakfast," Conicelli said Monday morning.

You can still get a burger here, and Conicelli is planning yet another transformation: Italian dinners —plus an Italian-themed decor—Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights starting later this month.

Joe's Eggs Up Grill is at 1645 Washington Boulevard. Hours are 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday, with dinner hours from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday to Saturday starting Sept. 26.
