Edgewood Police Reports: Burglaries in Area, DUI Arrests
Here's a look at the reports from this week.

Dec. 16
- A burglary was reported in an apartment at 1002 Walnut St. The victim left at 9 a.m. and returned at 11 a.m., noticing the front door and bathroom window were both open. Several items were found to be missing. Fingerprints were sent for a crime lab report.
- A retail theft incident was reported at . Richard Burchatte was charged and found to have seven prior records. He was taken to Allegheny County Jail.
- A burglary was reported at 1002 Walnut St. at a different apartment in the same building. A resident left at 8:15 a.m. and returned later, noticing that the bedroom window was unlocked and numerous items missing. Prints were sent to the crime lab.
Dec. 17
- A resident reported that her garage on Chestnut Street had been broken into when she found a window knocked out. Nothing was reported missing.
- Giant Eagle reported an incident of retail theft after Victoria Darkins used the self checkout and failed to pay for $326 worth of merchandise. She came back and paid for it later, but did not cooperate when she was told she can no longer shop there.
- police charged Matt Freedline of Laurel Street following two separate incidents in which he attempted to run Peter Patterson off of the road while driving. Patterson recently fired Freedline.
- Edgewood officers assisted state police with a three-vehicle accident on the parkway.

- Edgewood officers assisted Rankin police with a driving under the influence arrest. Adam Stead, 32, reportedly had a blood alcohol content of .142 percent after a breath test.
Dec. 19
- Edgewood officers assisted and Rankin police after a shooting on Monongahela Avenue. A man fled in a vehicle. Rankin police stopped the car on Rankin Boulevard. The sole occupant of the vehicle was observed throwing a gun. The driver also had a gunshot wound in the leg.
- Edgewood officers assisted Swissvale police with a driving under the influence arrest. Leon Morrison reportedly had a blood alcohol content of .132 percent after a breath test.

- Police received a stolen vehicle report. It was later found abandoned by Penn Hills police.
- Edgewood officers assisted in a medical emergency call.

- Officers assisted with a stuck truck on Race Street.

- Giant Eagle reported a disturbance in the parking lot. A juvenile male was advised to leave.
- A disturbance was reported at 102 Elm St. after two people were arguing over a movie, police said. Both were advised.
