Food Service Workers Ready To Strike In Woodland Hills

A week before school begins, 43 Woodland Hills food service workers are ready to strike as they bargain for a new contract.

NORTH BRADDOCK, PA —Union food service workers in the Woodland Hills School District will strike if they don't get a new contract soon, reports said.

All 43 Woodland Hills Cafeteria Education Support Personnel members voted Monday to approve the strike, according to the Tribune-Review. The food service employees work for subcontractor Nutrition Inc., the report said, and have not had a contract since July 1.

The workers are demanding "a living wage and respect for the positions they hold with the company," according to a news release.
