Heritage Community Initiatives Continues to Build Its Board Membership

Heritage Community Initiatives of Braddock has appointed four new members to its board of directors.

They are: Lois Bradley, The Bradley Partnerships Inc.; Nneka Hawthorne, Allegheny County Department of Human Services; Jeffrey Leber, Rivers of Steel National Heritage Area; and Paul Leger, retired, Braddock Borough manager.

Bradley is founder, president and CEO at The Bradley Partnership Inc., a leading organizational development consulting firm that enhances business performance through organizational assessments, HR audits, talent recruiting and retention as well as leadership development initiatives. With 30 years of experience in developing and re-engineering organizations, Bradley has a demonstrated ability to exhibit strong leadership in promoting the organization’s mission and values as an integral contributor to the continued success of Heritage.

Hawthorne is an education liaison for the Allegheny County Department of Human Services, where she provides resources and support to teenagers and young adults with experience in the foster care system that promote high school retention and the successful completion of post-secondary education programs.  Her previous experience working with health and human service providers throughout the Greater Pittsburgh Area will be a great asset for Heritage. 

Leber, current vice president and chief operating officer at Rivers of Steel National Heritage Area, has over 30 years of financial and management experience in economic development and regional planning.  His work to identify, prioritize and implement projects in the City of Pittsburgh and throughout Allegheny County make him more than prepared to serve as a board member.

Leger grew up in the Mon Valley Region, where he attended Central Catholic High School and went on to receive his degree from Duquesne University. Leger has had extensive involvement in municipal and county government management, non-profit executive management, public finance and budgeting.  Leger’s on the ground understanding of the communities we serve we will be a strong asset at Heritage.

The differing career backgrounds of these highly professional individuals will bring varying knowledge and leadership styles to Heritage Community Initiatives. These appointments will be an asset to furthering the organization’s mission of enabling individuals and organizations to improve health, education, economic strength and social vitality in their communities.

Heritage Community Initiatives provides support for families that live in Braddock and the Mon Valley region of Allegheny County through services in education, transportation and community outreach. The organization strengthens individuals and families, and builds healthier communities and provide resources for sustainability.
