Juniper Village at Forest Hills Celebrates a December to Remember!

Community Collaborations and Resident-Led Initiatives Capture the Spirit of the Holidays

As the crisp winter air swept through the Pittsburg area, Juniper Village at Forest Hills, a premier personal care community, transformed into a hub of festive energy and community-centered holiday spirit, embracing the December season in a truly special way. From charitable giving to musical performances and cherished celebrations, Juniper Village’s December was filled with joyful moments that uplifted the entire community.

The season began with residents and neighbors uniting for Juniper Village’s Fall Food Drive, which collected six bags of groceries and $205 in cash to support the Westinghouse Food Bank – a local affiliate of the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank. This generous outpouring of compassion underscored the community’s commitment to supporting those in need.

The holiday festivities continued to build as Juniper Village at Forest Hills welcomed the “Sassy Seniors” of the Better Than Ever Independents, a Pittsburgh-area musical group, to perform a delightful holiday variety show for members of the Penn Hills Senior Center. Decked out in festive costumes and brimming with energy, the group captivated the audience with their spirited songs and lighthearted antics.

Residents and the broader community were enchanted by the sounds of the season when JCC Pittsburgh, a vibrant local community chorus, graced Juniper Village with a special concert of holiday favorites. The 25 melodious voices filled the halls with the warm embrace of cherished yuletide melodies, spreading seasonal cheer throughout the community.

The highly-anticipated event of the month, Juniper Village’s 16th Annual Holiday Celebration, brought high energy and excitement to the Forest Hills community. Over 50 family members and friends gathered in festive attire and joyous spirits, ready to celebrate the community’s annual holiday traditions. A special surprise arrived in the form of the Grinch himself, courtesy of the community’s partners at Monarch Hospice, adding a touch of whimsical charm to this special occasion.

As the calendar flipped to its final page, the Forest Hills Singers, a beloved local choir, performed a concert of Christmas carols and holiday favorites, treating residents and associates alike with their beautiful harmonies.

Each event and program reinforced Juniper Village at Forest Hills’ dedication to cultivating a spirit of togetherness, sharing cultural heritage, and spreading seasonal cheer that will be remembered long after the final days of December.
