Patch Picks: Run Around the Square, Edgewood Community Day
This weekend is filled with neighborhood events!

This weekend is pretty much the definition of why I am in love with this neighborhood.
Between the Run Around the Square and —both back-to-back events held this Saturday—what more could you want? It's a chance to race, laugh, see your favorite neighbors and have a blast all at the same time!
kicks off with a family fun walk/run that spans 1.5 miles in the neighborhood, followed by the 5K race in Frick Park at 9 a.m. Personally, this will mark the first race I have ever participated in, and I could not be more excited. And seriously—beer stops along the way? That's what I am talking about!

After you run the race and cross the finish line in a haze of glory after running that 3.1 miles of steep Frick Park trails, take a shower and head over to Koenig Field in Edgewood for Community Day festivities that begin at noon and finish with fireworks around 9:15 p.m.
Most of the children's crafts and activities are completely free and sponsored by the , while the will be cooking up their famous barbecue specialities. The police will hold a raffle and the also will hold a special performance. Did I mention this was free? Seriously. I love this neighborhood!
