Patch Picks: Wings Over Swissvale, Pub in the Park Events

Who doesn’t like wings?

Chicken wings can be described as one of my greatest weaknesses. Paired with a good beer, you just can’t go wrong. And this weekend, wing-lovers like me have the perfect opportunity to enjoy a wide variety of the bar food favorite all in one place—.

While you're enjoying a plethora of the neighborhood’s finest wing selection, including dishes from , , and more, you’ll also be helping the , of which I am a member, to raise money. Wings Over Swissvale is a new fundraiser that is taking the place of the annual corn roast.

The event is this Saturday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Les Getz Memorial Field off of Church Street in Swissvale. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12. Each paying attendee will receive one wing from each vendor and participants will have a chance to vote for their favorite wings.

  • Saturday, Oct. 29, 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.—Blackridge Swim Club Fundraiser with music by Cue Ball

The pub recently instated a mini-menu, which includes a full roster of hot dogs, soft pretzels, grilled cheese sandwiches, Sicilian Cuts & Italian Dogs, nachos, and hard boiled eggs.

Don’t miss some of these great events! Maggie Sabol tends bar and always makes everyone feel right at home, along with co-owner Bill Murray, one of the nicest guys we’ve met!
