Reports: Swissvale Man Shot and Killed in the Borough

A Swissvale man was shot and killed early Saturday.

KDKA-TV reports that Ryan Beal, 27, was found dead at the bottom of a staircase inside his house in the 7400 block of Duquesne Avenue.

The shooting was reported shortly after 6 a.m. when a man living in the downstairs unit returned home and found Beal, who lived in an upstairs apartment, KDKA said. 

Beal was pronounced dead at 6:26 a.m., the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette said. 

A neighbor told KDKA she was awakened by what she believes were about a half dozen gunshots.

KDKA reports an autopsy Sunday determined Beal died of a gunshot wound to the head and trunk.

Allegheny County Police are investigating.
