Swissvale Building Struck by Lightning

An apartment building was struck during Friday afternoon's storms.

Lightning struck a seven-unit apartment building in Friday afternoon during a series of storms that swept through the area.

The building at 1611 Miriam St. was hit around 4:30 p.m. Swissvale Fire Department responded to the scene. No one was injured. 

All of the apartments are currently occupied, according to Swissvale Fire

Fire crews put out some smoldering flames in the attic area of the building, which had a blown fuse and electrical problems after the lightning strike.
