Visions for Vacancies: What Should Go on This Forest Hills Corner?
This vacant structure at the corner of Ardmore Boulevard and Braddock Road sits at one of the borough's prime corners.
At the corner of Ardmore Boulevard and Braddock Road in Forest Hills sits a vacant office building.
Built in 1928, the five-story structure at 1844 Ardmore Blvd. is for sale for $625,000. It has 52,192 square feet that have been used as office space through the years and the sales information indicates it has been remodeled.
Giant Eagle had its eyes on the property for a GetGo gas station/convenience store this summer. But Forest Hills Presbyterian Church declined the gas station’s $200,000 offer for a portion of its parking lot in August that would have been needed for the proposed GetGo, bringing an end to a debate among the church members that the Rev. Ben Black, pastor, described as “heated.”

Do you have a vision for this property?
Do you think it should remain as an office building or should it be razed and another commercial structure built on the property? And if that's the case, what would be compatible in the residential neighborhood that includes a church as a neighbor and public park across the street?
