WHHS Mock Trial Team Heads to Philly

Local team moves forward in competition.

On Jan. 7 and 8, the participated in the University of Pittsburgh’s mock trial tournament, where members finished with a record of 3-1 and ranked 9th out of 52 teams from across the state.

Additionally, Mary Caparosa was recognized as receiving a perfect score as a witness. The team travels to Philadelphia this weekend to compete at the University of Pennsylvania’s Benjamin Franklin Invitational, the first-ever mock trial competition held at an Ivy League school.

Team members include seniors Margaret Baker, Mary Caparosa, Alexander Howell, Vincent LeDonne, and Kimberlee Moore; juniors Michaela Buzzard and Mitchell Rode; sophomores Joshua Howell, Miranda Johnston, Lauryn Robinson, Michael Smith, and Alex Stunden; and freshman Liam Bachtell, Max Begler, Daniel Stoffergen, and Anna Yezovich. WHHS faculty member Kevin McGuire coaches the team.
