Juniper Village at Mount Joy, a premier personal care community, is dedicated to the continued education and wellness of its associates and residents. Under the leadership of Executive Director Renee Lentz, the community has taken significant steps to ensure that their team is equipped with the tools and support needed to provide the highest standard of care.

To support associates at Juniper Village, Renee Lentz, Executive Director, has initiated a partnership with Finding Serenity, LLC, a counseling service in Mount Joy owned by Lindsey Sobeck, MS, LPC. Team members from Juniper can meet in small groups, off campus at Finding Serenity, to talk about work life balance and the stressors of caring for older adults with healthcare needs or dementia. At these dedicated sessions, Juniper’s associates from all departments learn tools, techniques, and coping strategies to support their mental health to avoid burn out and be sure they are present and focused to provide the residents with the best care possible.

A significant achievement for the Juniper Village team is the recent certification of several associates as Certified Dementia Practitioners (CDP®). This certification is a testament to Juniper's commitment to providing enhanced care for residents living with dementia. The CDP® certification emphasizes training that enhances skills, improves residents' quality of life through a person-centered care approach, and supports career advancement for associates.

Lentz expressed her pride in the team's accomplishment, stating, "Our associates are deeply committed to providing excellent care for our residents. Education is key in our ability to deliver person-focused, memory support to those living with dementia. Leadership is proud of these highly valued team members from various departments who committed to this certification process."

The Juniper Village Connections Team recently attended a conference in Lancaster led by renowned dementia advocate Teepa Snow. The team spent the day absorbing valuable insights and strategies to better support residents with dementia. This experience underscores Juniper's commitment to continuous growth as a leading senior living provider and their dedication to professional development.
