Juniper Village Mount Joy Welcomes Art, Connection, & Creativity!

Artistic Expression, Valuable Ties, and Strengthened Friendships Highlight January at Juniper Village at Mount Joy

Creativity and artistic expression marked the start of the new year at Juniper Village at Mount Joy, a premier personal care community. From knitting to learning new artistic techniques in the studio, residents engaged in moments of self-expression while building camaraderie and forging new connections.

January began with creative minds and artistic expression, with the art studio buzzing with excitement as residents explored new crafts and mediums. From vibrant window art to winter yarn gnomes and charcoal drawings, the studio became a hub of creativity, fostering connection and personal expression throughout the month.

Residents also enjoyed a special performance by Josephine Martin and Ron Henry in the “Songs That Fill Your Heart” concert. The talented pianist and vocalist were a stand-out moment and brought community members together to celebrate music and friendship.

Game day spirit defined the new year, bringing friends together for a friendly, fun competition. Whether cheering on Penn State or playing a few rounds of poker with the Juniper men’s club, the camaraderie among the group made January a month to remember.

There were also delicious celebrations that delighted residents and associates alike. On National Cheese Lovers Day, residents indulged in cheesy nachos and later treated hardworking associates to a special cheese party as a token of appreciation.

Juniper hosted a special event – “Brunch and Learn: Connecting Through Dementia”, in partnership with Dementia Friendly Pennsylvania. Attendees learned about valuable resources and insights for those affected by dementia. Katie Erb, Juniper’s Certified Dementia Practitioner and Activity Director, gave an informative presentation to better understand how to overcome communication challenges and connect more deeply with loved ones living with dementia.

Each January event and celebration was thoughtfully designed to inspire creativity and bring the community together. These enriching experiences not only brought joy to residents but also deepened the bonds between residents, reinforcing the spirit of togetherness and support at Juniper Village at Mount Joy.
