1 Killed In Delco Shooting, Murder Charge Filed
Marquise Rasheed Smith, 27, of Philadelphia, fatally shot Jermaine Richardson, of Upper Darby, Saturday during a dispute, police said.

EAST LANSDOWNE, PA — A man has been charged with homicide after a deadly shooting in Delaware County over the weekend.
Marquise Rasheed Smith, 27, of Philadelphia, was charged with criminal homicide, first- and second-degree murder, and possession of an instrument of crime, court records show.
East Lansdowne Police said Smith was in an argument with Jermaine Richardson, of Upper Darby, at about 7:45 p.m. Saturday on the 100 block of Wildwood Avenue in East Lansdowne.

During the dispute, Smith pulled out a gun and shot Richardson in the chest multiple times, killing him, police said.
Smith was taken into custody at the scene and the handgun was recovered.

He was arraigned Sunday and then held without bail. Smith is scheduled for a Sept. 19 preliminary hearing, court records show.
East Lansdowne Police were aided by Lansdowne, Yeadon, Upper Darby, and Darby police, as well as the Delaware County District Attorney's Office of Criminal Investigations.
