DREXEL HILL, PA — A Delaware County chef who won a Food Network competition in 2022 is opening up a specialty eatery in the King of Prussia Mall with the help of Guy Fieri himself.

Drexel Hill's Chef Kevin "Steek" Cooper, winner of Fieri's "Guy's Chance of A Lifetime," will open up one of the celebrity chef's Chicken Guy establishments Thursday.

Cooper, who runs Succulent Imagination catering, and his fellow competitors spent six episodes having their mettle tested to see who has what it takes to run a Chicken Guy franchise by taking on various challenges, such as running pop-ups, creating dishes, cooking full meals themselves, and more.

"Giving a big shout out to my buddy," Fieri said in a special promotion for the KOP eatery and Cooper.

Cooper's Chicken Guy will be located inside the King of Prussia Mall Food Court. It will feature the chain's famous staples, including several flavors of chicken sandwiches, chicken strips, and more.

Fieri told 6ABC that Cooper has been hard at work for two years ever since he won the show back in 2022. He says that Cooper's team is ready for the challenge.

"This is like a Rocky fight," Fieri told the outlet. "He's been training, running the steps of the museum. This is awesome. I'm glad this is finally happening."

"Guy's Chance of Lifetime" brings together chefs from around the country to compete under Fieri's eye while he provides mentorship and ultimately chooses one to fund and kick-start their career.

"Going through this process has taught me that digging deep is no other option for life," Cooper said on social media after his win on the competition show. "I'm grateful, I'm thankful, and I’m still at a loss for words."

Cooper, a six-year military veteran, said he was inspired in his culinary journey by cooking styles from around the world while he was enlisted, and his "main influences are Asian and Caribbean flavors and spices."

Previous to his win on Fieri's show, he also appeared on Food Network's "Cooks vs. Cons" and "Fire Masters."

The King of Prussia eatery is the first Chicken Guy in the greater Philadelphia area. The nearest location is in Atlantic City.

Chicken Guy in the KOP Mall is open from 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., seven days a week.
