Delco Man Killed In Philadelphia Carjacking, 2 In Custody
Carmen Suero Jr., 70, of Drexel Hill, reportedly a military veteran, was shot and killed Sunday in a West Philadelphia carjacking.
DREXEL HILL, PA — A Delaware County man was killed in a shooting during an attempted carjacking in Philadelphia, according to authorities.
Carmen Suero Jr., 70, of Drexel Hill, died after being shot Sunday in West Philadelphia, police said.
The incident happened at about 5:07 p.m. on the 300 block of North 63rd Street.

Police were called to the area after hearing reports of shots fired.
There, they found a man, later identified as Suero, with a gunshot to his back. He was pronounced dead at Penn-Presbyterian Medical Center at 5:24 p.m.

Investigators believe the shooting stemmed from an attempted robbery of Suero's vehicle.
Nasir Brogdon and Nyzir Peoples, both 19 years old, were taken into custody in connection with the shooting. Both are charged with murder, robbery of a motor vehicle, tampering with evidence, and more crimes, court records show.
They are being held without bail and are scheduled for Aug. 4 preliminary hearings, according to court documents.
Action News reports Suero was a veteran who was attending an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting in the area.
