Delco Man Surrenders In July 5 Philadelphia Mass Shooting

Eight people were hurt in a July 5 shooting at a Philadelphia bar and lounge. Authorities said a Delaware County man turned himself in.

DARBY, PA — A Delaware County man turned himself in to authorities in connection with a July 5 mass shooting in Philadelphia.

According to the U.S. Marshals Service, Nino DaSilvio, 22, surrendered to federal authorities Thursday. He was accompanied by his attorney and family members.

Action News reports DaSilvio is from Darby.

He is charged with aggravated assault, possessing an instrument of crime, and related crimes.

The shooting happened at 3:54 a.m. Saturday at 7 Elements Restaurant Bar and Lounge, 1100 Washington Ave.

Police said officers were called to the establishment for a report of a shooting that happened after a fight on the establishment's balcony.

The victims are:

  • a 25-year-old female, gunshot wounds to the right arm and left hip;
  • a30-year-old male, shot in the right buttock and left arm;
  • a 28-year-old male, shot in the left knee;
  • a 27-year-old female, shot in the left buttock;
  • a 43-year-old male security guard, shot in the groin;
  • a 42-year-old male, shot in the chest and right arm;
  • a 43-year-old male security guard, shot in the left arm;
  • and a 25-year-old female, shot in the leg.

Michael Welton, a 43-year-old security guard at the establishment, turned himself in to authorities days after the shooting. He was charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, possessing an instrument of crime, and recklessly endangering another person, according to NBC10
