Pre-retirement seminar scheduled for Dec. 9
"The Social Security Administration will hold a free pre-retirement seminar in the Community Meeting room of the Haverford Township Free Library, 1601 Darby Road, Havertown, from noon to 1:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9.
The event is open to the public and is designed for those who are not yet on Social Security. It will give people an opportunity to learn about their retirement benefits and plan for their financial future. Topics to be discussed will include: full retirement age, how Social Security benefits are figured, when to take benefits, rules for collecting benefits while working, enrolling in Medicare and family benefits for spouses, children and widows.
