Firefighter Hurt In Delco Hit-And-Run
Luckily, the firefighter only suffered minor injuries in a hit-and-run crash outside the very fire station at which he serves Monday night.
YEADON, PA — A Delaware County firefighter was hurt in a hit-and-run crash Monday night outside the very firehouse at which he serves.
According to the Yeadon Fire Company and Yeadon Police, firefighter AJ Wildes was blocking traffic to allow a fire truck to return to the station after responding to a fire alarm.
While he was blocking traffic, police said a vehicle drove around the truck, striking Wildes' foot.

Wildes was taken to Penn Presbyterian Hospital for evaluation and was subsequently treated and released, police said.
"The safety of our members and the community is our #1 priority," Chief Shaheed Summers said in a news release. "Our thoughts are with our member, we are forever grateful that their injuries are not worse, and we ask that everyone slow down and be patient while driving"

The striking vehicle drove off, but the fire company said one of its apparatuses was able to follow the vehicle safely and inform police of where it was headed.
The vehicle was later found, but as of Tuesday afternoon no arrests have been made, according to police.
