Final Weekend to See Art Ability

The Bryn Mawr Rehab art exhibit ends Jan. 15 and it features a Havertown artist, among others.

Art Ability will end its 16th annual art exhibition Sunday at Bryn Mawr Rehab on Paoli Pike in Willistown. The unique show features work by artists with various disabilities.

Many of the artists are local, according to the exhibition literature, including Mark Michel:

Mark Michel, of Havertown, was diagnosed with cerebral palsy and is confined to an electric scooter. He focuses his photography on objects accessible to his limited range and enjoys the challenges of selecting the perfect angle and subject for his work. He has won several local contests and participates in local exhibits. Michel is known primarily for his large color photos of flowers.

The artwork lines the corridors of the hospital and is available to view from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m daily until it closes Sunday. According to Bryn Mawr Rehab:

The exhibit is then open free to the public and enjoyed by more than 3,500 individuals annually, including the hospital’s patients, theirfamilies and friends, hospital staff and visitors — making it the largest and most comprehensive exhibition of its kind in the nation.
