Firefighters Battle Manoa Road House Fire
The fire marshal does not know what caused the fire; no one was hurt.
Township firefighters and EMS were called to 328 Manoa Rd. on Thursday morning to battle a house fire.
The fire, believed to have started at 9:45 a.m., is thought to have originated in the living room of the two-story house and “burnt down into the basement,” said Jim Marino, the Haverford Township Fire Marshal.
Marino said that even though the second floor of the house, which looked as if the owners were adding a two-story addition to it, had smoke damage; he believes that the house is salvageable.

Firefighters from the Manoa, Brookeline, Llanerch and Oakmont fire companies were seen at various times in the house after the fire was extinguished, but there was still smoke seen billowing from the home. They were seen chopping walls and throwing smoked-damaged furniture out of the once picture window in the front of the house.

“No one was home. We were at work and school,” said Tina Reynolds with tears in her eyes. She lived in the house with her husband John Reynolds and their four children.
“It hasn’t hit me that we need clothes or anything,” she answered when asked where the Haverford-Havertown Patch can tell its readers where they can send donations to the family.
John Reynolds praised the firefighters. “This is the best community you can live in. These guys are all volunteers,” he said.
