"The arrest of Curtis Stewart, after some great investigative police work by Darby Township Officers working with the County Narcotics Task Force, makes our community safer by removing a drug dealer who preyed on people with substance use disorder in Darby Township," Darby Township Police Chief Michael Sousa said.

Stewart was charged with 26 counts of drug-related charges, five firearm violations, receiving stolen property, criminal use of a communication facility, seven counts of endangering the welfare of a child, and seven counts of corruption of minors.

"Perhaps the most disturbing aspect of this case, is the fact that the defendant was selling drugs and illegally possessing firearms to protect his drug operation, from the home he shared with his seven young children," Delaware County District Attorney Stollsteimer said. "To support his drug business, Curtis Stewart was even willing to endanger the lives of his own small children. We look forward to holding him accountable in our courts."

Stewart was held after failing to post $250,000 bail.

He is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing on Sept. 3, according to court documents.
