Haverford Police Are Hiring, Starting Pay Over $78K

HAVERFORD TOWNSHIP, PA — The Haverford Township Police Department is now hiring.

The department is accepting applications for officers now through 3 p.m. Sept. 5. The starting salary is $78,696 and no prior police academy experience is required.

Applicants paying with cash must submit payment in person, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., to the address above.

Hard copy applications can also be picked up at the Haverford Township Building, 1014 Darby Rd, Havertown, PA 19083.

All applications require fees to be paid, which can be done by using a money order can be mailed or hand-delivered to the township building.

In person applications and fee payments must be done between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday at the township building.

Registration fees are nonrefundable.

Applicants must be at least 21 years old and possess a valid driver's license and high school diploma or GED.

The written test will be given at 9 a.m. on Sept. 13 at the Haverford High School Cafeteria, 200 Mill Road, Havertown, PA 19083. Registration will begin at 8 a.m. and the doors will close at 8:50 a.m.

The top 50 applicants with the highest written score will continue with the hiring process.

Final applicants will have to pass an oral, physical and agility test, a psychological, polygraph examination and a background investigation.
