ICE Takes 1 Into Custody After Raid At Delco Property: Police

A confidential informant told authorities a Delaware County property was being used to house "a quantity of illegal undocumented citizens."

UPLAND BOROUGH, PA — One person was taken into custody following a raid by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Delaware County this week.

According to Upland Borough Police, the raid took place at 6 a.m. Tuesday at 4 Race Street in Upland.

Upland Police, ICE, and Chester Township Police executed a search warrant at that property after investigators got a tip alerting them to "a quantity of illegal undocumented citizens residing inside of a commercial place of business," authorities said. Authorities, after getting the tip, conducted surveillance of the property, which revealed people and animals were living in the property.

That property did not have a business license, use and occupancy permit, and other documentation and licensing as required by Upland Borough Code, police said.

As a result of the search, authorities determined the property was being used as a living space by people and animals.

One undocumented Mexican national male identified as Froylan Gonzalez-Ramirez was taken into custody by ICE agents.
