Hit-And-Run Of Delco Sanitation Worker Ends With Guilty Plea

The man pleaded guilty to one count of felony accidents involving death or personal injury after striking a sanitation worker in October.

HAVERFORD TOWNSHIP, PA — A Delaware County man pleaded guilty in court this week to a charge related to the hit-and-run involving a Haverford Township sanitation worker.

Douglas Dannibale, 37, of Drexel Hill, pleaded guilty Monday to one count of felony accidents involving death or personal injury, court records show.

The crash occurred the morning of Oct. 24, 2024, in the area of Leedom Road, Haverford officials said.

Hurt was a township sanitation worker.

Residents in the area jumped into action to assist the injured municipal employee.

Dannibale drove onto the curb, striking the worker.

He turned himself in to police the next day.

Court records show Dannibale is scheduled to be sentenced Sept. 29.

He remains free on $200,000 unsecured bail, according to documents.
