More Thefts from Haverford College, Police Report

In the most recent in a series of thefts, a bicycle, a laptop and $350 were reported stolen from the school.

The following incident reports were provided by the Haverford Township Police Department. Arrest does not suggest conviction.

Retail Theft at Wawa (unit block of E. Eagle Road) on Feb. 7 at 7:05 a.m. A store employee reported that for the past six months, three to five times a week, staff would find two 5-Hour Energy drinks, opened and emptied.

Theft at Haverford College (unit block of Hannum Drive) on Feb. 7 at 12:55 a.m. $350 was stolen from an unsecured dorm room.

Retail Theft at Kohl's (200 block of West Chester Pike) on Feb. 7 at 3:55 p.m. Joann Schmeltzer, 18, of the 2400 block of Anthony Avenue, Broomall, was cited for the retail theft of $48 worth of merchandise. 

Bicycle Theft at Haverford College (300 block of Lancaster Avenue) on Feb. 8 at 4:57 p.m.

Theft at the 400 block of Strathmore Road on Feb. 8 at 9:26 a.m. Victim reported that a bracelet was stolen from a person known to him. 

Fraud at the 100 block of Sycamore Road on Feb. 8 at 9 a.m. Someone made two purchases with the victim's credit card without his permission or knowledge.

Liquor Law Violation at the unit block of W. Eagle Road on Feb. 9 at 7:45 p.m.  A 14-year-old boy was cited for underage drinking.

Vandalism at the unit block of Vernon Road on Feb. 10 at 2:51 p.m. Vehicle windshield was smashed with a metal pole. 

Liquor Law Violation at the 300 block of Merrybrook Drive on Feb. 10 at 1:36 p.m. A 15-year-old boy was cited for underage drinking.

Theft at Haverford College (300 block of Lancaster Avenue) on Feb. 11 at 11:09 a.m. A laptop was stolen from an unattended backpack.

Theft at the unit block of W. Hillcrest Avenue on Feb. 11 at 7:36 a.m. The victim observed two white males in the rear of his work truck attempting to steal scrap metal when he arrived to work. The males fled on foot and police located one subject in a nearby yard. William Donnelly was arrested and charged.

Vandalism at the 100 block of Signal Road on Feb. 11 at 12:09 p.m. A victim discovered ruts in the grass and damage to a section of his curb.

Vandalism at Veterans Field (unit block of W. Manoa Road) on Feb. 11 at 10:22 p.m. A picnic table was damaged.
