New Owners Take Over Havertown Cafe Kettle
Couples Ciaran and Shaylynn Porter and Sean and Kyleen Finnegan are hoping to keep Kettle the same community gather spot it's always been.

HAVERTOWN, PA — A popular cafe in Havertown is under new ownership, but the new stewards are aiming to keep the eatery the same community hot spot it has always been.
Kettle is now under the tutelage of couples Ciaran and Shaylynn Porter and Sean and Kyleen Finnegan.
The married duos assumed control of the 1 Brookline Boulevard cafe at the end of November after striking a deal with the previous owners in the summer, Ciaran Porter told Patch.

"We understand the restaurant's history and that it's part of the community," he said. "We are committed to keep it similar to the foundation that's been laid here before."
So far, the transition has been smooth and very positive, he told Patch.

The new owners retained all the existing staff at Kettle and are hoping to let the back of house staff get creative with special menu items.
Porter said the cafe is sourcing as many ingredients locally as possible in an effort to push for the community connection.
"We're focusing on high quality ingredients and our vision to create a welcome and vibrant space where people can gather and enjoy their food," Porter said. "We want people to feel welcomed and the space to feel homey."
Diners can expect seasonal menu items, regularly rotating specials, and of course café classics.
For now, Kettle is open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for breakfast and lunch. But Porter said Kettle's hours may extend further into the afternoon in the future.
Kettle is located at 1 Brookline Boulevard in Havertown.
