Residents Sought For 3 Haverford Township Advisory Boards
The Friends of the Grange, the Human Relations Commission, and the Crossroads Figure Skating Club Board of Directors need members to serve.
HAVERFORD TOWNSHIP, PA — Haverford Township officials are inviting interested and qualified residents to apply to serve on two political bodies.
The Friends of the Grange and the Human Relations Commission each have one open position, according to officials.
The Friends of the Grange helps ensure the preservation of and the promotion and sponsorship of meaningful cultural and environmental activities and uses of the township-owned historical preserve, known as "the Grange," for the residents of Haverford Township and other interested persons.

Each year, the group submits a report of its activities to the township manager within 30 days following the end of the fiscal year.
Members meet at 6:30 p.m. the first Thursday of each month at the Grange Estate, 143 Myrtle Ave., Havertown.

The Human Relations Commission ensures "that all persons, regardless of race, color, religious creed, ancestry, age, sex, national origin, handicap disability, use or guide or support animals because of blindness, deafness or physical handicap of the user or because the user is a handler or trainer of support or guide animals, or because of a person's sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression enjoy the full benefits of citizenship and are afforded equal opportunities for employment, housing, commercial property, and use of public accommodations, it is necessary that appropriate legislation be enacted."
The commission also aims to "foster the employment of all individuals in accordance with their fullest capacities regardless of their race, color, religious creed, ancestry, age, sex, national origin, handicap or disability, use of guide or support animals because of blindness, deafness or physical handicap of the user or because the user is a handler or trainer of support or guide animals, or because of a person's sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression. To guarantee fair and equal treatment under the law to all people of the Township.
Members meet at 7 p.m. on the second Wednesday of each month in room 201C of the Municipal Services Building.
Additionally, the board of commissioners is seeking residents to serve on the Board of Directors for the newly formed Crossroads Figure Skating Club (USFS Club#1107), now administered by Haverford Township. Four meetings a year are anticipated, and there are three open positions.

The deadline to submit resumes and letters of interest is Feb. 15.
