DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — Deluges of rain led to unprecedented flooding in the Philadelphia region, leading to closed roads, water rescues, and unfortunately the loss of at least one life.

At 7 a.m., 4.54 inches of rain were recorded in Upper Chichester.

Below are full rainfall totals for Delaware County:

  • Upper Chichester — 4.54 inches at 7 a.m.
  • Chadds Ford Township — 4.40 inches at 730 a.m.
  • Bryn Mawr — 3.97 inches at 100 a.m.
  • Wayne — 3.38 inches at 8:29 a.m.
  • Wyola — 2.97 inches at 830 a.m.
  • Chadds Ford — 2.52 inches at 8:25 a.m.
  • Lansdowne — 2.21 inches at 7 a.m.
  • Norwood — 1.83 inches at 8:29 a.m.
  • Swarthmore — 1.19 inches at 8:30 a.m.

The highest rain total in the five-county region was in Coatesville, where 9.43 inches of rain was recorded at 8:21 a.m.

Swarthmore had the lowest total in the region, with 1.19 inches at 8:30 a.m.
