Stolen Vehicles, Fraud, Assault, Thefts: Haverford Crime Blotter

HAVERFORD TOWNSHIP, PA — Haverford Police released details on crime incidents that occurred over the last month.

These incidents took place between Aug. 6 and Sept. 2.

The blotter also features arrests made and citations issued.

Incidents

• Disorderly Conduct at the Ivy Inn, unit block of Brookline Boulevard, on Aug. 6 at 2:12 a.m. – 41-year-old male, 700 block of Pomina Road, Cinnaminson, New Jersey, was cited for public drunkenness and disorderly conduct.
• Motor Vehicle Theft at the 2100 block of Chestnut Avenue on Aug. 6 at 10:56 a.m.
• Theft at the 100 block of Ellis Road on Aug. 6 at 5:30 p.m. – The victim reported two unauthorized purchases with his credit card.
• Retail Theft at Giant, 100 block of W. Township Line Road, on Aug. 6 at 9:21 a.m. – An unknown male failed to scan $122.77 worth of merchandise at self-checkout.
• Retail Theft at Giant, 100 block of W. Township Line Road, on Aug. 6 at 9:11 a.m. – An unknown male stole $519.72 worth of merchandise.
• Theft at Kohl’s, 200 block of West Chester Pike, on Aug. 7 at 5:08 p.m. – An electric scooter was stolen from the bike rack.
• Motor Vehicle Theft at the 400 block of Steel Road on Aug. 8 at 8:05 a.m.
• Theft at the 500 block of Twin Oaks Drive on Aug. 8 at 1:34 p.m. – The victim reported $2,000 worth of jewelry missing from the residence.
• Criminal Mischief at Merwood Park, 2500 block of Wynnefield Drive, on Aug. 10 at 5:45 p.m. – Graffiti was reported.
• Disorderly Conduct at the 1300 block of West Chester Pike on Aug. 10 at 10:37 p.m. – 45-year-old male, 500 block of Lincoln Avenue, Prospect Park was cited for disorderly conduct.
• Theft at Westgate Pub, 1000 block of West Chester Pike, on Aug. 10 at 3:38 p.m. – The victim reported that her wallet was stolen from her purse.
• Criminal Mischief at the 300 block of E. Hathaway Lane on Aug. 11 at 11:28 p.m. – The victim reported that a juvenile kicked her door causing damage to the bottom portion.
• Motor Vehicle Theft at the 2900 block of Berkley Road on Aug. 11 at 10:13 a.m.
• Retail Theft at Acme, 600 block of W. Lancaster Avenue, on Aug. 11 at 7:56 p.m. – Two unknown males stole an undetermined amount of merchandise.
• Criminal Mischief at the unit block of Kathmere Road on Aug. 13 at 8:15 a.m. – The victim reported that someone kicked his front door causing damage to the door jam.
• Criminal Mischief at Merion Golf Club, 400 block of Ardmore Avenue, on Aug. 13 at 10:46 a.m. – An unknown actor rode a bicycle across the putting green causing several black tire marks.
• Criminal Mischief at Merwood Park, 300 E. Hathaway Lane, on Aug. 14 at 12:18 p.m. – Graffiti was reported on the bridge.
• Fraud at the unit block of E. Park Road on Aug. 14 at 6:15 p.m. – The victim reported that multiple unauthorized purchases were made with her credit cards and someone used her identity to add nine additional lines to her cell phone account.
• Retail Theft at Acme, 1300 block of West Chester Pike, on Aug. 14 at 9:28 p.m. – Two unknown actors stole over $200.00 worth of merchandise.
• Theft at the 300 block of Bryan Street on Aug. 14 at 4:24 p.m. - Vehicle was entered – Apple Car Play removable radio and work identification card was stolen.
• Identity Theft in the 1800 block of Manor Road on Aug. 15 at 12:35 p.m. – victim states that money was taken from his bank account, three credit cards were opened by an unknown person in his name and his retirement account was compromised.
• Fraud in the 500 block of Achille Road on Aug. 15 at 5:15 p.m. – an unknown person opened a credit card using the victims’ information.
• Criminal Mischief in the 1100 block of Allston Road on Aug. 15 at 5:16 p.m. – eggs were thrown at a residence.
• Theft from Vehicle in the 2600 block of Chestnut Avenue on Aug. 16 at 7:59 a.m. – a wallet was taken from the victims’ vehicle; vehicle was unlocked.
• Theft from Vehicle in the 700 block of Humphreys Street on Aug. 16 at 9:50 a.m. – change was taken from the center console of a vehicle; vehicle was unlocked.
• Liquor Law Violations in the 400 block of Rittenhouse Circle on Aug. 16 at 11:25 p.m. – large number of juveniles were cited. employee states that an unknown male took a bottle from the store and left without paying; investigation is ongoing.
• Theft from Vehicle in the unit block of Stanton Road on Aug. 17 at 1:14 p.m. – GPS system and CDs were taken out of the victims’ vehicle.
• Criminal Mischief at Merwood Park, 2500 block of Wynnefield Drive, on Aug. 18 at 9:03 a.m. – spray paint was found on the outside and inside of the bathroom.
• Theft from Vehicle in the unit block of Stanton Road on Aug. 19 at 3:31 a.m. – victims’ wallet was taken from her vehicle; vehicle was unlocked.
• Fraud in the 800 block of Martin Avenue on Aug. 19 at 12:42 p.m. – a cable service was opened in the victim’s name.
• Theft at the 1600 block of Rose Glen Road on Aug. 20 at 1:13 p.m. – The victim reported that she applied for a mortgage modification to refinance her loan. She received an email with contact information to proceed with the refinance. She was instructed to make multiple payments via money order over a three-month trial period. She became aware of the scam when the subject failed to respond to her phone calls.
• Public Drunkenness at the Manoa Shopping Center, 1300 block of West Chester Pike, on Aug. 21 at 2:30 a.m. – 52-year-old male, 400 block of Glendale Road was cited for public drunkenness.
• Fraud at the 1400 block of Steel Road on Aug. 22 at 2:20 p.m. – The victim received a call from a person claiming to be from the Indian Government. They advised him that he was involved in money laundering crime and that he would have to wire money in order to clear his name. The victim wired $35,000 before he recognized the scam.
• Criminal Mischief at Merwood Park, 300 block of Hathaway Lane, on Aug. 23 at 6:39 p.m. – Graffiti was discovered.
• Criminal Mischief at Darby Road and Wilmont Avenue on Aug. 24 at 11:21 p.m. – A group of juveniles were throwing coffee creamers at vehicles.
• Public Drunkenness at the 2100 block of Darby Road on Aug. 24 at 12:24 a.m. – 27-year-old male, 500 block of Ellis Road was cited for public drunkenness.
• Criminal Mischief at Veterans Park, unit block of Manoa Road, on Aug. 25 at 10:21 a.m. – The toilet paper dispenser was yanked off the wall and the metal partition for the stall was bent in the bathroom.
• Criminal Mischief at the 600 block of Valley View Road on Aug. 25 at 4:49 p.m. – The victim reported that his landscaping lights were damaged.
• Criminal Mischief at the 200 block of Hill Road on Aug. 25 at 1:36 p.m. – The victim reported that her storm door was shattered.
• Identity Theft at the 300 block of Cherry Lane on Aug. 25 at 12:56 p.m. – The victim reported that someone opened a Lowe’s credit card using his identity.
• Theft at Sunoco, 1300 block of West Chester Pike, on Aug. 25 at 7:36 a.m. – An unknown male removed three Continental tires from the garage.
• Identity Theft at the 1229 Fairview Avenue on Aug. 26 at 4:24 p.m. – The victim reported that someone used his identity to open a Verizon account.
• Theft at Bryn Mawr Extended Care, 900 block of Railroad Avenue, on Aug. 26 at 3:44 p.m. – An employee reported that her wallet was stolen from her bag while she left it unattended in the dining room.
• Theft at the 200 block of Greenbriar Lane on 0Aug. 28 at 7:57 a.m. – Vehicle was entered – a wallet containing credit cards, identification and gift cards was stolen.
• Theft at the 200 block of Lincoln Avenue on Aug. 28 at 8 a.m. – Unlocked vehicle was entered – a camping mat was stolen.
• Theft at the 200 block of Lincoln Avenue on Aug. 28 at 8:20 a.m. – Unlocked vehicle was entered – roller blades were stolen.
• Theft at the 300 block of Walnut Hill Lane on Aug. 28 at 9:29 a.m. – Vehicle was entered – vehicle key fob was stolen.
• Attempted Theft at the 300 block of Stanley Avenue on Aug. 28 at 6:27 p.m. – Unlocked vehicle was entered – nothing was reported missing.
• Fraud at the 1500 block of Ashton Road on Aug. 29 at 5:58 p.m. – The victim received a text from a person claiming to be from WSFS Bank. They advised him that there was an unauthorized charge on his account. He was told that his account was locked and that he had to transfer $7,500 into a Chase account in order to receive a Chase debit card. The victim contacted WSFS Bank when he did not receive the debit card and was told it was a scam.
• Motor Vehicle Theft at the 600 block of Ashurst Road on Sept. 1 at 2:37 p.m.
• Theft at the 800 block of Grove Place on Sept. 1 at 8:57 a.m. – Two unlocked vehicles were entered - $60 and credit cards were stolen.
• Theft at the 2500 block of Bryn Mawr Avenue on Sept. 1 at 12:11 p.m. – Two packages were stolen after they were delivered.
• Criminal Mischief at Merwood Park, W. Hathaway Lane, on Sept. 2 at 7:38 p.m. – Two juveniles were arrested for spray painting the wall underneath the bridge.
• Theft at the 300 block of Campbell Avenue on Sept. 2 at 7:51 a.m. – Unlocked vehicle was entered – a wallet containing identification, credit cards and $40 was stolen.

• 39-year-old female, unit block of New Street, Upper Darby. Charges: Retail Theft. Location: Giant, 100 block of W. Township Line Road. Date: Aug. 8 at 2:15 p.m.
• 50-year-old male, 200 block of E. Benedict Avenue, Havertown. Charges: DUI and careless driving. Location: 200 block of E. Benedict Avenue. Date: Aug. 9 at 12:59 a.m.
• 36-year-old male, unit block of Maryland Avenue, Villas NJ. Charges: Retail theft and possession of drug paraphernalia. Location: Acme, 1300 block of West Chester Pike. Date: Aug. 10 at 2:24 p.m.
• 40-year-old female, 1200 block of S. 57th Street, Philadelphia. Charges: Conspiracy, retail theft, possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. Location: Wine and Spirits, 1300 block of West Chester Pike. Date: Aug. 13 at 3:06 p.m.
