Township Pension Funds Enjoy Robust Growth in 2012

According to the township's financial adviser, it was a good year.

According to the Main Line Media News, the Haverford Township pension funds had a surprisingly good year.

At a Monday workshop meeting, a team of financial consultants in the employ of the township reported that 2012 was a sound year for capital markets, and the township benefited.

  • The police pension plan had a 12.18 percent rate of return. The benchmark for the year was 11.94. Year to year funds grew to almost $22 million, up from $19.3 million.
  • The non-uniform plan had a 12.46 percent return in 2012. It grew from $17.3 million to $19.7 million.
