Trombetta, McCloskey Elected Haverford Board President, Vice President

Commissioner Judy Trombetta is the new board of commissioners president, while Commissioner Kevin McCloskey is the new vice president.

HAVERFORD TOWNSHIP, PA — The Haverford Township Board of Commissioners held its reorganization meeting Monday, electing new leadership among its ranks.

At Monday's meeting, the board elected Fourth Ward Commissioner Judy Trombetta as the new president. Former Board President Larry Holmes, Esq., who represents the Sixth Ward, nominated Trombetta.

Trombetta was elected president unanimously.

She thanked her colleagues on the board for their support and the trust they put in her.

"I'm deeply honored for this opportunity, and the moment is not lost on me," she said. "As we look ahead, I'm excited to continuing to work together with all of you to serve the residents of Haverford Township and build on the great work we've accomplished."

Third Ward Commissioner Kevin McCloskey was elected as the board's vice president. Laura Cavender, Fifth Ward Commissioner, nominated McCloskey.

McCloskey edged out Seventh Ward Commissioner Conor Quinn by a 6-3 vote to assume the vice presidency.

McCloskey reiterated Trombetta's words, saying he is looking forward to working with his colleagues through the new year.

John Walko was reappointed to serve as the township solicitor for 2025.

Pennoni Associates, Inc. of Philadelphia was again appointed as the township's engineering firm.

The board made numerous other appointments for various commissions and boards in the township.
