U.S. Open Resumes After Suspension for Storm

About 3 1/2 playable hours were lost Thursday morning.

 

Play resumed just after noon at the U.S. Open at Merion Golf Club, according to the United States Golf Association, or USGA.

Play during the first round of the U.S. Open at Merion Golf Course was suspended at 8:30 a.m. Thursday due to a severe thunderstorm in the region.

SEPTA told people before 9 a.m., "Please do not attempt to attend the U.S. Open at this time due to the impending storm."
