Merion Golf Club's course proved to be a challenge to players of the 2013 U.S. Open. In the end, Justin Rose became the fifth player to win a U.S. Open at Merion.
After winning on Sunday, he gave a shout-out to Philadelphia, saying that the crowd remembered him from the AT&T tournament at Aronimink in 2010.
Despite what one sports columnist had to say, it seems that many people enjoyed the Merion U.S. Open experience, like volunteer marshals and workers. The Goodyear blimp brought a bird's eye view of the U.S. Open to TV sets around the world and a flying billboard to our region.
