• Donations Make the Holiday Special for Grands Stepping Up Recipients (delco.today) — Right here at Bethany Church in Havertown, Grands Stepping Up is running a resource center that supplies food, toiletries, and baby items to grandparent and kinship caregivers all year. This season, the nonprofit is also brightening the holidays for about 1,000 Delaware County children with donated wish-list gifts and ongoing twice-monthly distributions.
   

• Montgomery County Community College police academy celebrates 37 graduates (pottsmerc.com subscription) — A new police academy graduate from Havertown, Sean P. Boyer, is among 37 cadets completing Montgomery County Community College’s demanding 919-hour Municipal Police Academy program. The class earned awards for marksmanship, leadership, fitness, and scholarships, and many graduates will soon serve departments across the region, including Montgomery County and Philadelphia, after taking the state certification exam.
