Borough Authority to Flush Water Lines Near Schools

The has announced that it will be flushing its water system in the vicinity of the  campus on Thursday, April 5, 2012 starting at around 9am.

"We are only flushing this one day and expect to complete the work by the early afternoon," authority administrator Glenn Higbie said in an announcement.

"Customers will receive an automated phone message tonight (Tuesday) alerting them to the schedule for Thursday," he added. "We expect that some customers may see discolored water during the day, but we anticipate the conditions will return to normal by the end of the day."

If customers see discolored water they are advised not to use their hot water or to wash clothes, Higbie said. Instead, they should let their cold water run for a bit to help clear out the system.
