82-Year-Old Man Crashed Car, Had BAC of .19 Percent, Police Say
On March 19 at 7:44pm police say Richard Maitland, 82, of the 700 block of Saucon View Drive, Lower Saucon Township, was northbound on Main Street when he struck a southbound sedan while attempting to turn left onto West Water Street. Police said they determined that Maitland was driving under the influence of alcohol, arrested him for DUI at the scene, and transported him to St. Luke's Hospital for examination of an injury and a blood test. Maitland's blood alcohol content (BAC) was determined to be .19 percent, they added. The legal BAC limit for most drivers in Pennsylvania is .08 percent.

On March 20 at 12:24am police say they observed Keegan McHargue, 29, of the 3500 block of Haupts Bridge Road, Springfield Township, driving a black Acura sedan north on Main Street at Walnut Street without the car's headlights illuminated. Police said they stopped McHargue's vehicle and administered field sobriety tests, which he allegedly failed. McHargue was arrested for DUI and determined to have a blood alcohol content (BAC) of .08 percent, police said.

On March 31 at 2:05am police say they found Dino Roy Manero Jr., 29, of the first block of South Third Street, Perkasie, passed out in the driver's seat of a vehicle parked in the middle of Depot Street. Police said in a press release that Manero was determined to be under the influence of alcohol and was arrested for DUI. "Police later found out that Manero has a suspended driver's license for a previous DUI," the release said. Manero's blood alcohol content (BAC) was determined to be .12 percent, and he has been charged with DUI, police added.
