History Day, Pathway to Progress Planned for April 27

It isn't too early to mark your calendar for April 27, when Saucon Valley History Day will take place at local historic sites. A Hellertown-Lower Saucon Chamber of Commerce business community event will be held at the same time.

Do you love Saucon Valley history? Do you support Saucon Valley businesses? If you do, you won't want to miss everything that's scheduled for Saturday, April 27.

That's when the sixth annual Saucon Valley History Day will take place from 9am to 2pm at several local historic sites, including the Wagner Grist Mill in Hellertown and the Lutz-Franklin Schoolhouse and Heller Homestead in Lower Saucon Township.

The participating history day organizations are the Hellertown Historical Society, the Lower Saucon Township Historical Society and the Saucon Valley Conservancy.

Also on April 27 from 9 to 2, the Hellertown-Lower Saucon Chamber of Commerce will sponsor its second annual "Pathway to Progress" celebration of the local business community.

This year the business fair will be held at the grist mill.

Saucon Valley businesses will provide information to visitors, who will be able to walk or bike the Saucon Rail Trail from the grist mill to the Heller Homestead.
